BOURTON Vale cruised to an eight-wicket Cherwell League Division Two victory at home to Kingston Bagp-uize last Saturday.
Rob Pike and Nick Anderson made early inroads into the visiting batting line-up and half their side were back in the pavilion with just 57 runs posted.
At 83-9, Kingston were in all kinds of trouble but a spirited last wickets stand of 37 salvaged a little pride and Vale were set 121 for victory.
Early wickets again tumbled but, once Paul Lazenbury combined forces with James Winstanley, there was only going to be one winner as century stand eased Bourton to their target.
Winstanley was undefeated on 86 with his partner settling for the anchor role and 20 not out at the finish.
The club's second team remain top of their league after a high scoring match in Oxfordshire.
Kingston totalled an impressive 232-6 but Vale won by seven wickets thanks to a superb unbeaten 134 from Matt Walton.
