Evening with Aidensfield's finest

THE man behind one of TV's most popular rogues - Bill Maynard - is giving An Evening With talk in Worcester to benefit local charities.

Most people know Bill Maynard as Claude Jeremiah Greengrass, Aidensfield's famous layabout and petty criminal in Heartbeat, Yorkshire Television's long running hit show.

Maynard filmed nine series as Greengrass before he suffered a serious stroke during the filming of series ten.

He battled back, however, and helped launch the spin-off medical drama The Royal.

Next Thursday, July 21, audiences at the Swan Theatre are getting the chance to get to know the interesting character behind the interesting character.

Spokesman Bridget Moore said: "Getting to know Bill Maynard a bit better is useful in understanding his approach to the role; he is a man with a rather colourful life and a habit of going against the grain at times."

Proceeds from the evening will go to The Swan Theatre and other charities. The event starts at 8pm. Call the box office to reserve seats on 01905 611427.
