SUE Wright is leaving after 25 years as a youth worker in Tewkesbury and Ashchurch.
After helping thousands of young people through their teens she has been appointed senior youth worker for training and development with the county youth service.
This means that she will be passing on the knowledge gained in her years of experience to other youth workers.
She will work all over the county, including occasionally in Tewkesbury, from a base in Gloucester.
"I've been training youth workers as part of my job for many year but now I will be co-ordinating the training of staff, which is something I've wanted to do for a long time," she said.
While looking forward to her new job she is sad about leaving her many friends and colleagues behind.
She leaves the Tewkesbury Youth Centre on July 22, 25 years to the day since she moved to Tewkesbury to take over Northway Youth Club.
Town councillor Chris Danter, who has worked with her on a number of projects, said: "She is one in a million.
"I've never known a person so consistently dedicated to the youth of the town.
"I'm sorry we're losing her but so pleased she's going to something that is going to be more fulfilling for herself."
Sue is the longest serving female youth worker in the county.
