Baker's on the ball

TEWKESBURY Park golfer Stuart Baker helped Gloucestershire to victory in the South West Boys Championship at Broadstone last week.

The win qualifies the county's youngsters for the English Boys Finals at Little Aston in early September - the team of seven for which will be selected later this month and promises to be a tricky task.

Wiltshire and Devon were the victims and they were never in the match when they trailed by 15 shots at lunch.

The youngster carded rounds of 74 and 76 with his former effort one of the morning's best.
