BUDDING Shipston tennis stars have netted a win in the county championships.
Youngsters from Shipston Primary School, aged from seven to 11, fought through three rounds to become champions in the competition.
The first area feeder event took place in June and saw schools from across the area take part including Brailes and Ilmington.
Pupils then went through to the South Warwickshire champion-ships where they competed against teams including Kineton Primary School.
The crunch match came at the end of the month at the county championships.
They fought to win the title against schools in Birmingham, Coventry and Rugby.
PE teacher Debbie Connor said: "The success is mainly down to the coaching from Shipston Tennis Academy which has been working with schools in the area.
"We are very proud of them, particularly in the way that they showed such great team spirit.
"They worked together very well," she said.
