By-election for council vacancy

A BY-election to fill the vacancy for Beacon -Stow ward of Cotswold District Council is due to take place in the New Year.

The by-election, due to take place on Thursday, January, 12, has been called following the resignation of Mr Robert Barnett.

The district councillor stepped down from the position after admitting he divulged confidential information provided by Cotswold District Council chief executive Bob Austin regarding Stow gipsy horse fair earlier this year.

Anyone wishing to stand as a candidate must complete a nomination form which must be returned to the Returning Officer by noon on Tuesday, December 13. Nomination packs are available from the elections office.

Any elector who wishes to vote by post at this election needs to complete an application form. This form must be returned to the elections office by 5pm on Wednesday, January 4. Postal vote application forms are available from the elections office.
