Mail order catalogue firm scoops five national awards

A LEADING mail order catalogue company, whose flagship store is in Stow, has scooped a record five awards at a national catalogue award evening.

Scotts of Stow, who have now won more catalogue awards than any other UK catalogue business also collected the judges' top award as Overall Winner - Best UK Catalogue Business 2005 at the annual ECMOD catalogue conference.

Chief Executive of Scotts of Stow Nigel Swabey said: "Recognition like this helps the company massively in terms of its trade terms and general standing, both as a mail order catalogue and as a retailer.

Scotts of Stow has a well-established retail presence in the Cotswolds, with the popular Stow store, drawing thousands of visitors each year from all over the country.

They operate several other stores in the centre of the historic market square, including the Natural Linen Chest, Ancestral Collections, The Traditional Garden Supply Company, Expert Verdict and The Original Gift Company.

The company's warehouses and customer service centre are based in Swindon, where over 120 staff are employed.

Mr Swabey added: When a panel of ten expert judges declares you to be the best in the country it's very rewarding. We'd love to have a party to celebrate, but as usual we're all just far too busy with Christmas."
