Feast of music for the festive season

A FEAST of music is being served up in Shipston and the Stour Valley over the festive season.

On Sunday, December 18 The Mean Fiddlers are appearing at the George Hotel in Lower Brailes at 2pm and blues band Gin House, featuring ex-Workhouse Blues bass man Tim "The Duke" Ducquenois, will be performing at the White Bear in Shipston at 9pm.

On Monday, December 9 "closet" musicians are invited to the George in Brailes for an Unplugged Open Mic session.

On Thursday, December 22 Brailes Village Hall plays host to the Brailes Big Christmas Party, at which Mike Sanchez, former frontman with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, and his band will be leading a line-up which includes Wired, Neil Gay, Beth Porter and Friends.

Tickets for the event cost £15 or £12 and can be booked on 01608 685332.

On Christmas Eve there is an Informal Music Christmas Evening at The George with Helen Porter and Guests at 8.30pm.

While on Boxing Day Oliver Darling and The Blue Tits will be performing at 9pm. On Tuesday, December 27 Wired, a local soul, rock and roll band, formerly known as Soul'd, will be appearing at the White Bear in Shipston at 9pm.
