Back in business as Broadway motor on

BROADWAY United returned to winning ways in the Strat-ford Alliance on an afternoon when two other sides showed their scoring prowess.

Luke Bayliss, Matt Sheridan and Gary Buckland scored the goals as United overcame Halfords but it was two terrific away displays that shone out in Aquaid Division One.

Ben Huckfield led the way with a hat-trick as Ilmington Revol-ution won 5-3 at Alcester Lions, while two goals apiece for Greg Castle and Kevin Ward helped Stratford Spartak to a 6-1 success at Badsey United.

The latter's second string had a scoring hero of their own as Matt Jelfs notched up a treble in his side's 3-1 Cutler Division Three win at Quinton.

David Veitch also banged in a hat-trick as Red Alert defeated Tysoe United 5-3. There was one more goal as FISSC overcame Ilmington by the odd goal in nine at Tiddington, while Blockley were on the receiving end of a 6-1 hammering at Henley.

Karl Surman was the afternoon's top marksman with a four-goal haul as Halfords won 6-1 at Shipston in Herald Division Two.

Evesham-based Swan Inn are the section's form side at present and a brace from Matt Gibbons and a third goal for Matt Print secured a 3-0 success at Studley.

Another side in the thick of the promotion chase, Dog and Phea-sant, had a far stiffer time of a it but still emerged triumphant against Henley Forest Reserves thanks to goals from Andy Mackin and Rich Skan.
