Witney Vikings 4,

Moreton Rgrs U-13 2

SUNDAY was definitely a case of away day blues against a stronger and more determined Witney side.

On the whole this was a poor performance with the visitors being outbattled in what was a disappointing contest.

Vikings hit the woodwork twice in the first half but it was the visitors who went in at half-time in front after Matty Magee lofted the ball into the top corner from 18 yards for an undeserved lead.

Moreton, though, were caught sleeping after the restart when Witney scored only five minutes after the break after hesitation in defence.

That opened the floodgates as Rangers missed tackle after tackle and gifted their opponents three more goals.

Moreton managed to grab a second goal ten minutes from time from Harry Bates and they could have scored a third but poor finishing let them down.

It was just one of those games when the losers struggled to get going and they were second best on the day to a very physical Witney outfit.

Evesham Utd U-12 16, Southside 0

TOTAL football is the only way to des-cribe the home team's performance.

Ivan Masica opened the scoring when he headed in a cross from Bryn Tomes, while Louis Brown followed up Wes Burden's penalty that had struck a post.

Burden then did find the net from the edge of the area and Tomes scored after a lay back from Brown before Masica converted another centre from Tomes.

Tom Evans started the second half with a fine run and shot from the edge of the area.

Brown was then on hand to finish after James Bearcroft's shot was parried and the scorer then turned provider for Masica' to complete his hat-trick.

Brown then scored a fine solo goal, before Bearcroft blasted in a pass from Colin Philpott. Harrison Cother followed in after Burden's shot was parried and Brown then added two more to his tally.

Bearcroft did likewise to complete securing his treble and Cother and Brown combined to set up Elliot Grady to end the rout.

Malvern Tn Wdrs 0,

Evesham Utd U-12B 6

EVESHAM signed off for 2005 with victory and an excellent team effort.

Angus Steele gave them the lead and Joe Iorns quickly made it 2-0.

Dan Wilcox scored Evesham's third after good work from Oliver Wilkes and Scott Andrew and it took only 19 second half seconds for the visitors to make it 4-0 when Iorns scored his second. Steele also netted his second before Iorns completed a treble.

Evesham Utd Girls U-14 4,

Worcester City 1

THERE was relief all round as United recorded a welcome win mainly thanks to a hat-trick from Katie Armento.

Her first two goals were cracking shots from distance and she completed her hat-trick after god work from Vicky Keen following a goal kick from Victoria Rawlings.

City reduced the arrears in the second half only for Evesham to restore their three-goal advantage and secure the win when Deborah Lewis found the net.
