Witness appeal after intruders strike

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man disturbed three intruders in his home last Tuesday.

The incident happened at the home in Church Road, Newbold-on-Stour, at about 7.45pm. The victim was in his kitchen when he heard a noise by the back door and found it had been wrenched open.

A man, described as white, 30 years old, 6ft, with short dark hair and medium build, told the victim there had been problems with windows in the area and took him into the lounge

The elderly man saw two other men go into another room of the house, at which point he pressed an alarm button and the men ran out of the back door.

The two other men were described as "like twins" - white, aged 16 to17, about 5ft 10in tall and well built with dark hair that was not too long.

Stratford police would like to hear from witnesses on 01789 41411.
