STOW may have missed out on movie stardom but it is destined to get some TV coverage next week.
The town, which lost the chance to be the location for a major new British movie next year after traders said they did not want a film crew disrupting the town's Square for two weeks, is due to feature on Working Lunch, the BBC2 business programme.
A reporter has been to the town to ask local business leaders why they did not want a movie being shot in their midst.
If it had come to Stow, the film, Hot Fuzz, written by the team behind the hit Shaun of the Dead and produced by Working Title, maker of such international blockbusters as Bridget Jones' Diary, would have been filmed in May with a cast of 20 and crew of 60.
Earlier this month former town mayor Vera Norwood, a shop owner, described Stow Business Association's rejection of the film as "short-sighted".
BBC spokesman Mark Burey confirmed that the item on Stow was due to be shown next Tuesday at 12.30pm.
