MORETON may see the opening of a new centre for do-it-yourself arts and crafts in 2006 if a local businesswoman has her way.
Pebworth-based Bernadette Skertchly is looking for suitable premises in the town to run her business, which would enable members of the public, young and old, to do crafts such as pottery painting and glass fusing.
Bernadette, whose Amber Dog Creative Arts and Crafts recently visited Cotswold District Council's Moreton Area Centre to give local people a taster of what to expect, currently runs her business on a mobile basis.
However, she is hoping to set up a permanent base in Moreton and has been actively looking for premises.
"I thought Moreton would be a good base as it is a bit devoid of arts and somewhere where people can go along and anybody can do it," she added.
As the business develops, Bernadette plans to extend the range of crafts on offer.
She also wants to offer her services to corporate clients for staff away days or team bonding exercises.
