BADSEY SOCIETY: Chairman Will Dallimore welcomed guests to the launch of the Development of the Parishes of Badsey and Aldington since 1807 project held at Badsey First School. Maureen Spinks, the project manager, outlined the many phases of the scheme, from the initial photographing of the enclosure maps through to their eventual digitisation. Maureen also thanked the 17 village volunteers who were currently transcribing the award schedules. Victoria Bryant and Maggi Noke of the Worcestershire Historic Environment and Archaeological Service gave an illustrated talk demonstrating what their department would be doing with the maps and transcribed schedules. Robin Whittaker, achives mnager of the Worcestershire Record Office, unveiled a framed copy of the Aldington enclosure map before handing it to Yvette Jackson representing Badsey Remembrance Hall,where the map will be on display. The Badsey enclosure map, which is to be housed in St James'Church, was unveiled by Badsey' new vicar, the Rev Richard Court. read more
