  • Beautiful doll

    Staff at the Cancer Research Shop in Tewkesbury are hoping that a battered old doll with only one eye will help fill their coffers. The baby doll, which stands about 12 inches high, is made of a soft rubbery material. One eye is missing and the other badly damaged. Her name 'Marie Lou' is written on her back. Shop manager Wendy Jones said: "She just came in with a load of other donated stuff. "I was going to throw her out, but someone had a look at her and said that she probably dated back to the 1930s and, despite her poor condition, is actually worth something." read more

    Over 55s can get their financial questions answered by experts at a special advice session being held at the Watson Hall on Thursday, May 12. The sessions take place from 10.30 to 1.30 and 1 to 3pm. Entry is free and lunch is provided. Booking is essential and free transport may be available.
