County help for coaches

NEXT month, the Gloucestershire Sports Partnership will play host to the single biggest week-long event to help develop sporting coaches in the region.

Following on from regular courses run by the GSP since 1999, the Gloucestershire Coaches Week will host eight workshops covering such aspects from Fundamentals of Movement and Coach Mentoring in conjunction with Sport England and Sports Coach UK.

These workshops are key for those involved in the club accreditation scheme for their sport. They are also useful for people involved in all manner and aspects of sporting clubs as they cover items useful to all - not just coaches.

GSP Club and Volunteer Development Officer Hamish Neal said: "These workshops are a great tool for not only obtaining details on areas coaches and clubs may not have covered before but also in obtaining best practice information in areas such as Equity."

Most of the workshops are scheduled to be run at the University of Gloucestershire's Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester between March 20 and 26.

If you have any questions about the workshops then feel free to contact the GSP office on 01242 715190.
