SHIPSTON is being invaded by a plague of rats for the next few days, when the local drama group stages its annual panto.
The "ratty tribe" made up of local youngsters will be treading the boards at Townsend Hall, Sheep Street at 7.30pm this evening and for the following three evenings as they make life a misery for Dick Whittington and his Cat. They will also be performing a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Director Cheryl de Lacy, who co-wrote the Shipston Dramatic Society panto with Margot McCleary, joked: "I have some local children as the ratty tribe and they are brilliant. They are keen and do as they are told, which is more than you can say for some of the adults!"
Tickets, which cost £5 for adults, £3 for children and concessions, are available on the door or from Wyntors, High Street, Shipston.
