The North Cotswold Hounds met on Wednesday at Blockley, and while running a fox in Bourton Wood a second bolted down the village by Dovedale. After running about there for some little time he came into the lower part of the village and was seen near the club buildings. From here he scaled a wall and got into an orchard near Miss Yates's, from whence he got into her premises and was driven by some terriers belonging to Mr. Wright into an outbuilding, where he was secured. He was subsequently released and made his way back ultimately to Bourton Wood.

A very jolly dance took place at the Club Room, Broad Campden, on Wednesday evening in aid of the Flower Show Funds, and proved very successful. Electric Light was provided and the room was very tastefully decorated for the occasion, thanks to the generosity Mr. Watkinson. The Broad Campden popular orchestra, assisted by the Blockley "Acme" Dance Band, very ably provided the music and dancing was kept up from 8 p.m. till 1 a.m. Mr. L. Potter, jnr., acted as M.C. At the conclusion, Mr. L. Potter, senr., proposed a very hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Watkinson for his kindness on this and other occasions, which was carried with acclamation.

Speaking at Shipston-on-Stour on Friday, Lt.-Col. F. T. Blennerhassett, chairman of Warwickshire County Council, assured ratepayers that the council had no intention of taking advantage of the high valuations on property by levying a higher rate than necessary. The occasion was a dinner held by Shipston R.D.C. at the Hostel. Col. Blennerhassett proposed a toast to the R.D.C. and presented a badge of office, paid for by subscriptions, to the chairman, Mr. F.C. Grevatt. Col. Blennerhassett said: "I am quite sure that the estimates for the coming year have been carefully scrutinised and whittled down to the utmost degree. Whatever the rate is it will be an honest endeavour to give any advantage that can be gained to the ratepayers."

An attempt is to be made to introduce a community minibus at Campden now that plans to start a similar scheme at Moreton have fallen through. The Cotswold DC's transport sub-committee was told this week the Voluntary Help Centre at Moreton had written saying it could not accept responsibility for the minibus. Unless some other organisation could be found, the project would have to be abandoned. Attention was now being turned to the Campden area and annual parish meetings in the northern parishes this Spring would be asked to state their opinion about the community bus plan. It was agreed the district councillors in the northern parishes should meet parish councils and parish meetings to sound out local opinion.
