Tony's in frame for Wales call

TONY Spedding upped his profile in his bid to represent Wales at Ultra distance by racing the Pontypridd Reverse 10 mile on Sunday.

In a time of 63.55, he finished 53rd in the race, which had a high veteran content. However, he managed to sprint home in eighth place out of 32 vet 50s, which will have done his credentials nothing but good.

Four members of Bourton Roadrunners added an extra cross-country race to their previously heavy schedule to take part in an Oxford League race.

Brittany Teague finished fourth in the under 15 girls, Tom Jess who ran in the under-15 boys, Dennis Walmsley second overall in the senior men and first vet 40 and Robin Macdonald 179th.
