Moreton Rgrs U-13 0,

Easington Sports 3

ON A dull sunday afternoon at London Road, you would have thought that Big Daddy and Giant haystacks would have been better off playing for the hosts with the amount of forearm smashes that they were on the end of!

Fielding only having 12 fit players, Rangers went behind early on and it was the manager and assistant who did all of the running as they tended to a string of injured players.

Moreton then conceded another sloppy goal just before half-time but, after patching up the injured, they came out fighting in the second half.

They created several good scoring chances but failed to find the net and, after suffering more knocks, insult was added to injury when the Oxfordshire side netted a third.

RANGERS reached round two of the Ambassador League's League Cup with a comfortable victory over their Cotswolds rivals.

Ryan Dixon's solo strike broke the deadlock after eight minutes and it was 2-0 eight minutes later when the scorer produced another excellent finish.

Both sides then found the net before half-time with Matty Andre netting Badsey's third before Ilmington took advantage of a lapse at the back to make it 3-1.

The three-goal cushion was quickly restored when player of the match Dixon set up Andrew for a close-range finish just before the break after which there was only one more goal when Andrew saw his shot blocked by the goalkeeper but the forward reacted fastest to fire in his third of the match.

Ilmington produced a gutsy second half show that saw them create numerous chances but goalkeeper Joe Gisbourne was in fine form to help Rangers progress.

Evesham Utd U-12 2

GOALKEEPER Leon Ballard's command of his box was instrumental in Sunday's hard-fought win.

Some well-timed movement off the line kept the opposition at bay and, although behind a solid defence, added a new dimension to the game.

Evesham enjoyed the majority of first half pressure with Henry Woods and Ivan Masica coming closest. After the break, Grady hit the crossbar before Bryn Tomes broke the deadlock with a shot from fully 25 yards.

As Evesham raised their game Louis Brown doubled the lead after good work from Tom Evans and James Bearcroft.

HENRY Woods opened the scoring after an Ivan Masica lay back following Sam Ford's cross.

The latter was instrumental in the second when his cross was deflected into the net.

Leon Ballard was on top form with a couple of fine saves before Colin Philpott provided a third for United when his cross was headed in by the lively Elliot Grady.

Bryn Tomes hit the net from the edge of the box for 4-0 before James Bearcroft drove home the final goal.

Kettering Tn 1,

Evesham Utd U-15 2

THIS Midland Junior Premier League friendly clash was staged at Derby County's Moore Farm training ground where Evesham put in one of their best performances of the season.

A run and cross by Lewis Dallard enabled David Huggins to give the Robins the lead, but a heading scramble following a corner provided Town with an interval leveller.

Evesham started to dominate after the restart and Huggins broke free into the area to seal the victory.

Evesham Utd U-15 2,

Bredon Colts 3

DESPITE plenty of possession that created numerous half-chances, the Robins could never get far enough in front against resolute opponents who always posed a threat up front.

Evesham were 1-0 up at half-time thanks to a David Huggins strike but they then trailed 2-1 before Josh Millar appeared to have snatched a draw.

However, Bredon kept going and scored the winner with a neat chip over the keeper.

Evesham Utd U-13 4, Hinckley 2

LOU Brown's deflected cross gave United the early lead and it was 2-0 when Dean Lee converted a cross from Olly Scarrott.

Hinckley hit back either side of half-time to make it 2-2 but Michael Savidge popped up with a brace to secure an Evesham success.
