World premiere at Number 8

A MODERN musical ensemble from Birmingham is visiting Pershore in April to present another leg of their whistle stop tour of the area.

The award-winning Birmingham Contemporary Music Group is preparing to give a world premiere performance of a specially commissioned work by Simon Holt at Pershore's Number 8 Arts Centre, on Saturday, April 22 from 3pm.

Simon is a keen follower of BCMG's innovative series of free concerts based in rural venues and wrote the work, 5 settings of E.D. especially for the tour.

The two performers on the day are familiar with Holt's work and have premiered several of his compositions.
