Halfway to pedestrian destiny

WILL the person responsible for the design of the pedestrian crossing on the junction of Swan Lane-High Street-Avon Road, please step forward to be recognised.

Surely, road building and its ancillaries, should be planned with safety first; first in mind.

This pedestrian crossing, busy at all times, allows pedestrians to cross the road, to halfway only, on the green man; only to find, if you are lucky, that there is a red man, stopping you crossing the other half! Pedestrians, that don't realise this, for one reason or another, will get knocked over, by traffic speeding by northwards.

Am I the only one that despairs at the complacency of the public service planners who build roads, islands and pedestrian crossings with impunity; much better they used skill, thought and computer graphics, before spending their huge tax budget ... but they never will ... and we have been building roads, since the Romans? (It is also impossible to get a brand new note of any denomination, from the bank, these days.) It's just like the late John Smith said, "It's no wonder, our houses are falling into the sea".
