LOCAL choral society Philomusica returns to St Peter's Church, Bengeworth for their annual Good Friday concert tomorrow.
The choir will be marking the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart by performing three of his pieces.
The Mass in C major, nicknamed the 'Sparrow Mass', Laudate Dominum, featuring Korean soprano soloist Hyo-Joo Cho - making her farewell appearance in this country before returning home - and the ever-popular Ave Verum Corpus will constitute the first half of the concert.
In the second half Stainer's Crucifixion will be heard.
Philomusica;s chairman John Quinn said: "The choir has a long tradition of marking Good Friday by giving a concert of suitable music.
"For several years now we've given this annual concert at St Peter's where we always receive a very warm welcome.
"We feel that this year's choice of music is particularly apt. Stainer's Crucifixion has been an integral part of the Lenten musical heritage of this country for over a century.
"Mozart's music is receiving even more attention that usual all around the world this year and we're keen to do our bit to mark the 25oth birthday of a composer who gave us so much glorious music."
The choir will be directed by their conductor, Linda Parsons, and accompanied by organist John Wright.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30 cost £7 (£6 for concessions) and are available on the door or in advance from John Quinn on 01452 506417.
