A CHARITABLE trust based in Stanton near Broadway has published details of a range of arts and craft part-time courses beginning next week.
Stanton Guildhouse, which was created in the 1950s by Mary Osborne, is offering courses in subjects as diverse as mixed media painting, furniture restoration, computing for beginners and a creative writing course.
The core activity of the Guildhouse is to provide classes and residential summer schools in arts and crafts and an open weekend is planned for Saturday and Sunday May 13 and 14.
In a typical school term it runs 21 classes for up to 200 students in woodcarving, woodturning, pottery, stained glass, watercolours, patchwork, creative writing and calligraphy.
There are also quiet days, mediation evenings and Rural Read, a book club.
The Guildhouse is also used by business for off-site meetings or small conferences.
It is ideal for away day meetings, planning or team building and is used by a number of blue chip clients.
The Stanton Guildhouse has seven bedrooms and can sleep 15. Extra overnight accommodation is available in the nearby village of Stanton.
