At a meeting of Moreton-in-Marsh Parish Council on Tuesday, Mr. A. F. Horne was unanimously re-elected chairman and C.W. Rolph vice-chairman. The clerk reported that the Parish Meeting had confirmed the suggestion of the Parish Council that the winding of the old town clock be suspended, it being thought that the Redesdale Hall clock being so near it was unnecessary to go to the expense of winding it. The report of the Visitors to the Cemetery was received, and everything appeared to be in good order. It was decided that the Mann Institute be taken for meetings at the scale fixed by the Trustees instead of the present arrangement of fixed sum per year. A long discussion took place on the question of providing a house for the fire engine. It was generally thought that the old house might be so altered to suit the requirements.

At a special meeting on Monday, Shipston-on-Stour Parish Council accepted the conditions under which the R.D.C. is willing to convert the lobby of the Council House into a bus shelter. The conditions are that the Parish Council shall pay for the cost of the alterations (£110) and for reinstating the lobby as some future date, and that the arrangement shall not be permanent. Replying to a question about the period of time for which the lobby would be allowed to remain as a bus shelter, the chairman, Mr. E. H. Whitehead, said that as soon as it was possible for the buses to be accommodated away from the High-street the R.D.C. would expect a new shelter to be provided. "As regards the long-term plan, I think we can be satisfied that it will not come about within five or six years," he said.
