Red-faced officials to remove rail sign

GREAT Western Railway has admitted it went off the rails with its new sign for Moreton Station - calling it Moreton-in-the-Marsh.

Red-faced officials have ordered another sign after the mistake was pointed out.

A spokesman for the railway said: "There was an administrative error. We will be taking the sign down this week and replacing it as soon as possible.

"We have been trying to improve things at the station and had put this one up because, historically, there hasn't been a Welcome to Moreton sign."

The company now has a 10-year franchise for the station and said it would be looking at further improvements in the near future.
