BREDON Buzzards Under-16s rugby team travelled to The Hague in Holland for a two-day tournament involving sides from around the UK and Holland.
The first match against Amersham and Chil-tern Under-17s was a close affair with Bredon coming out on top thanks to a solitary score from Stefan Ellis converted by Mark Everett.
Their second match against Merthyr 16s was another close encounter when a Ben Ward try converted by Everett wasn't enough to force a victory.
However, Bredon powered past Dorchester Under-16s thanks to tries from George Cound and two to Ellis, all converted by Everett.
And, a similar performance followed against Scottish opponents Murrayfield Wanderers 16s with tries to Ward, Eddie Ranson and Ben Sutterby and an Everett conversion.
Against Tring on the second day, a scoreless draw was followed by another tight match against hosts WRC Haaglanden with the Buzzards going down 3-0.
In their final match against Thurrock, tries to Charlie Hobson and Ellis and a conversion by Everett and a drop goal in the final minute by Simon Corbett resulted in another win.
Bredon's youngsters ended the tournament in joint third place alongside Tring behind the Easter hosts and Welsh outfit Merthyr.
Only 13 points were conceded in seven matches and 67 points scored in what was a fine weekend's work.
