Bredon III 1, Tewkesbury Tn 3
TEWKESBURY continued their unbeaten run with a hard-fought Cheltenham League fifth division victory last Thursday night.
Both teams made chances in the early exchanges but it wasn't until midway through the first half when Ben Jackson crossed for Paul Kavanagh to score.
Bredon hit back and equalised when Kilminster capitalised on indecision at the back and the hosts pushed forward after the break and only some desperate defending and fine goalkeeping from Jason Simpson kept them at bay.
After weathering the storm, Town went back in front when Dave Goodwin's long ball forward found Joe Goodwin who fired home from an acute angle to net Town's 100th league goal.
The points were secured five minutes from time when Kava-nagh rose above the Bredon defence to score with a close-range header.
Town 1, Cleeveonians 0
TOWN rested several key players and, despite missing some good chances, they claimed another win.
The hosts controlled the game for long periods but hadn't packed their shooting boots with the closest effort coming midway through the first half when Ian Butler deflected Sam Pope's shot on to the crossbar.
The deadlock, though, was finally broken at the start of the second half when captain Dave Goodwin's powerful header left the visiting goalkeeper helpless.
Town play host to Churchdown Panthers on Saturday.
