JONJO O'Neill and Tony McCoy teamed to take the first at Stratford last Sunday but failed to make it a double winning start when Wild Is The Wind was beaten in the second race.

Odds-on favourite Mikado came good with an eight-length victory in the Novices' Hurdle opener for the Jackdaws Castle handler but it was evens favourite Dickensbury Lad, ridden by Paddy Brennan, who prevailed second time around in the Beginners' Steeple Chase.

Brennan was on board the third-placed finisher, Cameron Bridge, in the feature race of the afternoon - the totesport.com Handicap Steeple Chase that saw Irish-bred Calatagan lead from start to finish to take the honours with only one length to spare after being sent off at 15/2.

Joint favourite alongside third-placed Cameron Bridge, Joey Tribbiani finished a gallant second.

Martin Pipe added another winner to his tally when 5/1 chance Wee Dinns took the Handicap Hurdle with Tom Scudamore on board.

Spring Margot, a winner at Luddington Road last May, narrowly bagged a repeat under the guidance of Tom Greenall in the Hunters' Steeple Chase.

Sunday's final race went to 16/1 shot Tamreen who romped home with six lengths in hand in at 16/1 for the Alan Brazil Racing Club.

Estate, trained at Alcester by Roger Brookhouse, finished second after being sent off a 20/1 chance.

JP McNamara, who was on board Three Lions for Brookhouse on Saturday, was transferred to the spinal injuries centre at Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital on Sunday after spending Saturday night in Wrexham Hospital following a fall at Bangor.

The next meeting at Stratford is on Friday evening, May 26 - that is swiftly followed by another on the Saturday night.
