Final flourish for Forest

HENLEY Forest have enjoyed a profitable week in the Stratford and District Alliance having lifted two pieces of silverware.

The club's young A team defeated Red Alert by a solitary goal from Ryan Helliker to win the Division Three Knockout Cup, while goals from Ben Adshead and Stuart Bates saw off Ilmington Revolution and clinch the Aquaid Division One title last Saturday.

Champions FISSC, meanwhile, were denied a divisional double when they lost 2-0 to Halfords Reserves in the League Cup Final.

The Tiddington club's second string were also in losing mood as Welford's A team recorded a 5-2 Cutler Division Three triumph.

In the same section, Ian Ellis, Matt Layton and Jamie Coughlan all netted twice as Bidford's second team trounced Welford B 8-3. Helliker bagged a brace to help Henley to a 6-0 win over Ilmington, while Steve Cross's double helped Blockley pick up a point from a 2-2 draw at Quinton.

Ryan Dowling went one better with a hat-trick in the top flight as Halfords won 4-0 at Southam. Mark Jeffs and Luke Bayliss both found the net twice as Broadway defeated Bidford Boys 5-1 and there were two goals for Stuart Tordoff in Earlswood Town's 5-3 win at Alcester.
