SIX candidates will battle it out for two seats in Chipping Norton and The Bartons in next Thursday's local council elections.
Four of them will contest the Chipping Norton seat on Cotswold District Council: Elizabeth Janet Irvine Allen, Lib Dem, of Hailey Avenue, Chipping Norton; Robert Llewelyn Evans, Lab & Co-op Party, of New Street, Chipping Norton; Brian Alexander Luney, Green Party, also of New Street, Chipping Norton and Robert (Chunky) Townley, Con, of Rock Hill, Chipping Norton.
There are only two candidates for the seat at The Bartons - Colin Carritt, Lab, of Woodstock, Oxford and William Arthur Goffe, Con, of Middle Barton, Chipping Norton.
There will also be elections in the Brailes and Long Compton Wards for seats on Stratford District Council on May 4.
In Brailes the candidates are Richard Cheney, Lib Dem, of Aylesmore Farm, Shipston and Philip Stanley Seccombe, Con, of Sundial Cottage, Lower Tysoe, Warwick.
The Long Compton seat will be contested by Stephen Charles Gray, Con, of Furlong Meadow, Shipston and Philip Peter John Vial, Lib Dem, of Watery Lane, also in Shipston.
At the same time, three candidates will be chasing a seat on Chipping Norton Town Council. They are: Keith Richard Greenwell, Con, of Southcombe, Chipping Norton; Marion Barbara Jesty, Independent, of West End, Chipping Norton and Patrick McHugh, Independent, of Lodge Terrace, Chipping Norton.
