Off to a flier!

THE Under-13s squad from the North Cots-wold Young Cricketers Club made a good start to the season with a convincing win in the first round of the Ron Maudsley Knockout.

After electing to bat first, the scoreboard was quickly ticking over courtesy of a good opening stand of 31 in five overs between player of the match Joe Dancer (24) and Nick Hudson (15).

Further contributions from Robbie Shurmer (17) and Connor Shoemark (15 not out) left hook Norton to score 129 for victory.

The chasers really never got to grips with the NCYCC bowling and ended their 20 overs 59 runs short for the loss of only three wickets.

The match ball was sponsored by Graham Treglown(Boundary Sports).
