Tewkesbury Town 3 Bredon III 2
TOWN completed a League and Cup double with victory over their local rivals in a pulsating Cheltenham Charities Minor Cup Final.
Both teams battled for supremacy early on but Bredon's chances suffered a blow when Baldwyn was sent off after 20 minutes.
However, this only spurred them on they took a deserved lead with Potter firing home a low drive.
Tewkesbury fought back with Jake Pettitt, Simon Brown and Leom Holley all going close before they were level midway through the second half when Dave Goodwin's through ball eluded the Bredon keeper and rolled into the unguarded net.
A Goodwin free-kick then set up Pettitt to put Tewkesbury in front with a powerful header but the ten men refused to give up. And, when Ian Butler was adjudged to have fouled Kilminster in the area, Kavanagh smashed the spot-kick home.
Only a smart save from Jason Simpson stopped Kilminster giving Bredon a winner before action switched to the other end where George Kirby's pass found Pettitt whose long-range thunderbolt sealed a famous win.
The winners completed a remarkable Cheltenham League Division Five that saw them win all 26 matches ending with an emphatic 7-3 victory over Churchdown Panthers.
Pettitt added four goals to his increasing tally with the other three from Kavanagh, Joe Goodwin and Jamie O'Keeffe.
