Start with win on road

BROADWAY kicked off the defence of their Concorde League title with a 96-74 victory at Hewell last Saturday when they won on four of the five rinks.

After five ends, the visitors trailed by six shots but gradually began to adjust to the pace of the green and recover the deficit.

The shot of the afternoon came from the home side's Dennis Hutchins against Colin Cooper when, with the last wood of the 11th end and being seven shots down, he drew a touching bowl to tie the end.
