Lions' book sale is roaring success

STOUR Valley Lions held another of their legendary book sales over the Bank Holiday weekend with thousands of books on offer.

The books, donated in their thousands, ranged from fiction to cookery plus biographies and sport.

They were on sale priced from 50p to £3 to raise money for the Lions' charity of the year, the County Air Ambulance.

The Lions are also staging a cinema evening on Friday, May 12 at Shipston High School at 7.30pm, showing the recent release Mrs Anderson Presents starring Judy Dench, who was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal, and Bob Hoskins.

Tickets cost £3.30 on the night or £3 in advance from a Lions member.
