District delight for girls

A TALENTED young hockey team beat all comers when they took the spoils from a tournament staged at Evesham High School.

The Year Seven girls team from Abbey Park Middle School in Pershore won the Under-12 District tournament earlier this year but only received their winners' shield last week.

The girls were involved in a very tight tournament on the day and they were biting their nails right until the very end when they took the title by virtue of victory over Bredon Hill who had the same points total and goal difference as the new winners.
