Age is no obstacle to winning rider Jess

NOVICE rider Jess McNeill-Wilson enjoyed outstanding success in a recent one-day eventing competition.

Willersey schoolgirl Jess, aged 15, was competing in the Broadway horse trials with girls who were all a year older.

Yet despite this, she won one of five introductory section events held on the weekend and achieved the best score of all the competitors in only her second event.

Jess competed on her horse Raise the Profile, who is housed in stables near her home at Ford Farm.

As a result of her success at Broadway, she is now entered into a regional competition and will compete in Milton Keynes and Wiltshire as well as a schools competition in two weeks time at Chipping Campden.

Prizes were presented to the winning riders by BBC TV reporter Kate Adie.
