Second half goals win it for Town

Tewkesbury Tn 3, Brockworth Albion 1 TOWN'S Saturday side have used a massive total of 25 players already this season so it is no surprise that they are finding it hard to gel as a team early on in games.

Nevertheless, they stretched their unbeaten Cheltenham League record to 34 games after another impressive display when, with a bit more luck in front of goal, they could have scored a few more.

Brockworth never really threatened despite taking the lead against the run of play but it was only after the interval that the hosts took control.

Substitutes Darren Preece and Simon Brown were influential in the middle of the park and their efforts were rewarded when a looping header from captain Dave Goodwin beat the keeper after namesake Joe's perfect pass.

Town then took the lead with 25 minutes left after good work on the wing from Stewart Merry who crossed for Paul Kavanagh to nod back across goal and into the corner.

The points were wrapped up five minutes from time when another header from Paul Kavanagh beat the keeper to keep Town clear at the top of the table..

Bottom of the table Belmore Jags are the hosts for this weekend's fixture.
