Buzzards travel well

LAST season's meetings between the Under-15s of Bredon and Alcester resulted in a win apiece.

Buzzards started brightly and good pressure from the forwards gave them early territory. However, Alcester defended well and some handling errors slowed Bredon's progress.

The visitors' patience paid off with a well-worked try from winger Joe Somers following some good recycling of the ball by the forwards.

Again some good play from the home side contained the visitors but, with relentless pressure form the Bredon forwards and some neatly executed set moves from the backs, it was only a matter of time before Dink Butler scored between the posts.

Fly-half James Davies slotted over the conversion to give a 12-point half-time advantage to the travelling side.

There was more of the same from Bredon in a second half that brought two more tries from Butler and a "joint" forwards' try from prop Toby Patterson and flanker Sam Cotterell.

Accurate kicking from Davies brought the Bredon points to 31 while the winners prevented the home side from getting off the mark.
