Pool players in knockout action

ACTION in the Tewkesbury Trophies Pool League was in the preliminary Round of the Knockout Cup when eight teams battled for the four remaining places in the first round.

The first tie of the evening saw the Undertakers travel to the YMCA to face the Renegades and run out 8-2 winners. Also playing that night were the Nomads who faced an ever improving Lucky 5 outfit that only managed one win in an 8-1 reverse.

The last tie was the tightest of all as the Alcoholics Anon squeezed through courtesy of an 8-6 victory over Wiffy at Best who faced the unenviable task of winning the last five frames for victory.

Holders, the Alpina Bush Cutters, earned a walkover over Northway.
