Carol claims category prize

CAROL Cowley has clinched victory in the Gloucestershire Cross Country Series.

The Bredon-based veteran has raced in three events during the winter to claim top spot in the V55 category.

Tewkesbury Athletic Club teammate Angie Sadler finished second in the competitive V45 category.

Jason Draper, meanwhile, took on the Stourbridge Stagger - a tough multi-terrain race over ten miles.

He completed his toughest race to date, taking on hills, stiles and of course, mud in a field of around 500.

A finishing time of one hour and16 minutes gave the Tewkesbury runner a respectable 69th finishing position.
