Pair show power in the pool

TEWKESBURY swimmers Ashley Dougan and Harrison Moore made their mark at last week-end's Gloucester County Amateur Association com-petitions.

In the 400m freestyle, Dougan claimed second place in his age group with a season's best time of 4.20.88 and set a new personal best when sele-cted to swim in the Men's Championship Final clocking 4.17.67 when coming seventh overall.

Fellow Gloucester City member Moore took two seconds off his pb when touching third in the same age group in 4.21.81 Dougan and Moore went on to take first and second respectively in the 200m backstroke with season's best times of 2.23.60 and 2.29.85.

Dougan's favourite event of the weekend, the gru-elling 200m butterfly, saw him take his age group first place in a time of 2.12.41 - another pb.

Selected for the Men's Championship Final he knocked a further half-a-second off that time to finish second overall and claiming a new County Age Group record.
