Tourists seen off by on song Buzzards

BOLTON School returned to Gloucestershire two years after their previous tour and an exciting match against the Northerners was expected, especially as former head boy and Gloucester prop Jack Forster came out to watch.

However in the Under-15s match, Bredon took an early lead when fly-half Ross Attwood saw a gap in the defence to break through and cross the line under the posts and add the conversion.

Bolton dug in at this point, though Bredon continued to test their defence, which was finally breached when winger Rob Jeal went over in the corner.

The final five minutes of the first half, though, sealed the game for Bredon. Flanker Matt Deakin snaffled the ball at a Bolton line-out five-metres out from where he drove through to the line to score.

No 8 Ben Lees added another try a couple of minutes later which was followed by a great capture at the restart and scrum-half Ed Davies sprinted 70-metres down the pitch to score.

Attwood converted two more to make the half-time score 31-0 in Bredon's favour.

Bolton showed much more resolve in the second half and soon scored a converted try.

Bredon, though, woke and soon had their defence back on song and no more points were posted.

Forster presented Gloucester rugby hats to players of the match from both sides with Attwood the recipient for the hosts.

This Sunday, the Under-15s play host to Silhillians in the quarter-final of the North Midlands Cup, kick-off 11am and all support will be welcomed.

There was a thrilling victory from an excellent Under-10s team that scored five tries courtesy of Jake Carolan, George Barrell, James Newey and Alexander Keleher.

Displaying some excellent rucking skills and possession, Cirencester were constantly put under pressure and Bredon ran out the worthy 25-0 winners.
