Former county cricketers in action at Ashton

THERE will be a chance to help raise money for the Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester on Sunday.

Former first-class umpire Ray Julian has again compiled a series of matches - the first of which is on Sunday when Ashton will play host to a Ray Julian's XI that will include former county players Neal Radford, Stuart Lampitt (captain), Kevin Emery, Charlie Mulraine and Dean Hodgson.

The next match is on Sunday, June 8 at Birlingham (11.30) where Lampitt, Emery and Mulraine are again expected to be in action in a side captained by former Glou-cestershire and England bowler Mike Smith.

The opening match of Dumbleton's cricket week will see a Ray Julian XI tackle the local side on Monday, July 28 before a final game at Bretforton on Sunday, August 10.

This weekend's opener starts at 11.30am and there is free admission with a bar and barbecue available.
