Village sides bidding for final places

THREE members of the Cotswold Hills League face semi-final clashes in next Sunday's regional semi-finals in the npower Village Cup.

And, two of them lock horns in the Leicestershire and Warwickshire group in a repeat of last season's rain-affected group final when Earlswood won a bowlout against Exhall and Wixford.

It's the latter who have home advantage when the winners wil face either Offchurch or Fillongley in the final on June 15.

Bretforton fly the flag in the Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Powys group and they play host to old adversaries Colwall.

The prize for the winners is a visit to either Eastnor or Belbroughton in the final.

Two walkovers and a first round bye mean Bredon have yet to play in this year's competition that promises a day out at Lord's for the finalists.

However, their first taste of the action is a chance to reach the Gloucestershire group decider when they entertain Apperley next weekend.

Waiting for the winners are Redmarley, who defeated Dumbleton in the quarter-finals, and Marshfield.
