Rise to occasion to pass course

IT was a proud moment for the eight people who successfully completed their Royal Yachting Association Level 2 Dinghy Sailing course at Arden Sailing Club at Defford.

After three very windy weekends, the course finished on Sunday with the capsize drill.

This meant each student having to right a capsized GP14 sailing dinghy and all achieved this including the two youngest members on the course, 12-year-old Patrick Swinson and Liam Falvey (14).

Senior instructor Alan Salerman presented Swinson, Falvey, Tony Beech, Laurence Wells, Ben Mansbridge, Adrian Summerton, Gillian Swinson and Emma Williams with their RYA Certificate of Achievement.
