Charity clash features cricketing stars

THERE will be a rich array of cricketing talent on show when Ray Julian takes his Invitation XI to Dumbleton on Monday, July 28 at the start of the club's annual Cricket Week.

Former England Test star Derek Randall heads the cast list for the charity clash while Gloucestershire's popular Australian Ian Harvey is also expected to be on show.

Former Warwickshire pair Neil Smith and Jason Ratcliffe are just two of numerous ex county cricketers in the line-up, others include Bobby Parks, Kevin Emery, Trevor Jesty, Simon Hinks and James Brinkley.

Julian, a former player with Leicestershire before becoming a first class umpire, will adjudicate the man of the match award on a day when there will be a grand prize draw and refreshments available following the start at 11.30am.

Proceeds from the day will be donated Acorns Childrens Hospice.

Bourton-on-the-Wat-er's annual cricket week sees a visit from the MCC today for a clash starting at 11.30.
