Try to be ready to face a crisis
EVESHAM residents are being reminded to get advice on how to be prepared for the unexpected by turning up to an event being organised by Worcestershire County Council.
The council's emergency planning team will be at Evesham Community Contact Centre between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday to give advice and information on what to do in an emergency.
The event is being set up in support of National Business Continuity Week, which aims to raise awareness among residents and businesses of the need to have a contingency plan in the event of an emergency.
There will also be a chance to win a wind-up, all-in-one torch, radio and mobile phone charger.
Emergency planning manager Nick Riding said: "These events being held across Worcestershire are a great oppor-tunity for residents to have their questions answered regarding what they need to do in an emergency.
"Our emergency planning team will be on hand at each of the five events offering advice and handing out leaflets with key emergency tips."
Simple tips such as keeping a supply of fresh bottled water and knowing what to do in the case of the evacuation can reduce anxiety and save lives.
For more information about the events, call the emergency planning unit on 01905 766716 or visit www.worcester shire.gov.uk/emergencyplanning.
