Tewkesbury shoppers encouraged to keep it local
10:14am Wednesday 24th October 2012 in News By Sarah Taylor
INDEPENDENT retailers in Tewkesbury are announcing details of a competition this week to encourage more customers to shop locally and support town centre shops.
The Discover £1,000 Grand Prize Draw is the brainwave of the Discover Tewkesbury retailer group.
The prize money is being raised by signing up local businesses to the scheme, which has a joining fee of £20.00.
Barry Clayton, of Abbey Carpets, in Church Street, said: “There is still time for local businesses to take part in the scheme if they want to promote their business over the festive period.”
The fee includes all the promotional materials including a window poster.
The competition opens to members of the public on November 1 and runs until closing time on Christmas Eve.
Shoppers will receive free entry each time they spend £20 or more at a participating retail outlet.
Full details of the competition including a list of shops taking part can be found at VisitTewkesbury.info.
Anyone interested in taking part in the scheme can contact Mr Clayton on 01684 276272.
