residents in Bredon Road, Tewkesbury, are waiting to hear if they have won a fight to keep a patch of green outside their homes.
Fearing that the grassy bank could be lost if the northern relief road is built and Bredon Road widened to cope with the extra traffic, they submitted an application to have the area registered as a village green.
A public inquiry into the application was heard this week.
Residents had to prove that the land had been used for recreational purposes for 20 years. The county council objected because it would affect plans to widen the road.
Leslie Bloham QC, who chaired the hearing, is expected to make his recommendation to the Land Registry within three weeks.
